When comparing the texts, it seemed Gira was a older than Hansa and latter was a sharpen answer to the former. Both writers selected Parakrmabahu six as a major character of them. Buy their true ambition was to elucidate the greatest leaders of Buddhist monks. Gira poet selected Thotagamuwe Sri Rahula thero and other selected Wanarathna thero of Keragala. Many critic considered the two great Bikkus presented two fractions and the poets paid their attention the ideological battle of them and the fractions were named Wanawasi ( living in the forest) and Gramawasi (living in the village). In this paper seeks the ideological battle as not mere religious one and it reflected political and social battle in the period. There was critical internal crisis among the royal members in the Kotte kingdom. And as a result of it King Parakrmabahu six recommended kingship to his grandson, prince Jayabahu. Prince Sapumal, the son of the king for second queen defeated Arya Chakrawarthi, the Tamil Ruler of Jaffna and the prince Sapumal was respected among the citizens. Thotagamuwe Sri Rahula, attempted to bring Jayabahu as king but other great Bhikkus and civilians, attempted to bring Sapumal for leadership. The Gira poet praised Thotagamuwe Sri Rahula and other for Keragala Wanarathna in this context. In this study, we have taken the Gira and Hansa ideologically conflict that represents a serious political background.Item A Study on the significance of the Language Used in Sangharaja Sadhu Chariyawa(Department of Linguistics, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2016) Madhusanka, H.A.G.The pioneer of the Religious Enlightenment in Sri Lanka during the 17th Century was Welivita Sri Saranankara Sangharaja Thero. He contributed the revival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and received the higher ordination. Sangaraja Thero tried to uplift the academic level of the system of education in Sri Lanka. The declension of the Sinhalese language was a grave issue at that time and constructing a meaningful statement in Sinhalese was found difficult. It's Sangharaja Thero 's literary renaissance which gradually introduced a consistent grammatical order to the Sinhalese language. is a biography of Thero Sangaraja and was written by Ayiththaa Liyedde Muhandiram Rala. This biography portrays the language which has been used in prose writing during the 17th Century. Further, it depicts a novel Sinhalese style of grammar. It seems that the author of Sangharaja Sadhu Chariyawa had no deep understanding about the classical grammar patterns. Nevertheless his attempt in expressing his ideas clearly in Sinhalese is explicit. The language employed in Sangharaja Sadhu Chariyawa has a colloquial touch and the usage of long sentences can be identified. Further, a number of synonymous and debating words coming from the maternal language have been employed in Sangharaja Sadhu Chariyawa. Thus, the research study I present is based on the significance of the language used in Sangharaja Sadhu Chariyawa.Item අභිමතාර්ථ සාධනයෙහි ලා පූජාවලි කතුවරයා දැක්වූ සාමර්ථ්යය (පූජාවලියේ පරිච්චේද කිහිපයක් ඇසුරිනි)(Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2014) Madhusanka, H.A.G.Item ප්රතිනිර්මාණිත ආඛ්යාන කාව්යකරණයෙහි ලා ජාතක සාහිත්යයෙහි දායකත්වය (සිරිලාල් කොඩිකාරගේ කනේරුමල් කාව්යය ඇසුරිනි)(Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2016) Madhusanka, H.A.G.Kanerumal was the Narrative poetry composed by Sirilal Kodikara in 1992. Its source included Sinhalese Pansiya Panas Jataka Pota and the Kanavera Jataka. Kanerumal was presented with another narrative poetry called Manasavila. The Prostitute, Sama was the main character of Kanerumal. According to the traditional tale she was a capricious woman. Kodikara has challenged the basic meaning of the Jataka tale. There was an ironical outlook towards the basic meaning of the traditional Jataka story. In the reconstruction, the poet has generated a revolutionary ideology of Woman. He has tried to expose the present sociopolitical background in Sri Lanka. Thus, Kanerumal is one of the important modern narrative poetry in Sri Lanka. (Department of Sanskrit, University of Kelaniya, Kelaniya, 2016) Madhusanka, H.A.G.
