    Factors Affecting Entrepreneurial Intention of Human Resource Management Undergraduates at University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka

    Different elements can influence a management undergraduate's entrepreneurial intent. The willingness of undergraduates to participate in entrepreneurial action in the future is determined by their entrepreneurial intention. The primary goal of this study is to determine how Personal Attitudes, Entrepreneurial Education, Attitudes on social networking influence HRM undergraduates' entrepreneurial intentions at the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka, the primary data for this study was acquired by sending 130 survey questionnaires to final year HRM undergraduates at University of Kelaniya as responders. Every variable was subjected to the Cronbach's Alpha Dependability test, which ensures a high level of reliability.

    Factors Affecting Innovative Work Behavior of Management Undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka

    People who display innovative work behavior have opportunities to explore knowledge related to innovation and use it to develop their competencies and to gain new insights. There is a research gap in the Sri Lankan context regarding investigate the associated factors which affect the innovative work behavior of the management undergraduates in Sri Lanka. Thus, the current study was initiated to address this gap by examining the factors affecting innovative work behavior of management undergraduates. By drawing from rich scholarly history, the researcher identified main four factors which affects the innovative work behavior of the employing undergraduates: learning goal orientation, self-efficacy, job autonomy and transformational leadership. This study followed quantitative approach and used the deductive methods of researching. The primary data of the study was gathered by distributing 160 survey questionnaires that met the acceptable level of validity and reliability. The study was conducted by using convenience sampling method. Type of investigation was correlation, and it was cross-sectional on time horizon. The unit of analysis was individual level. Management undergraduates who are employing in full time and part time in the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka were considered as the respondents in this study. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, and simple regression were applied to analyze data. Findings of the current study support the empirically justified conception that learning goal orientation, self-efficacy, job autonomy and transformational leadership are strong predictors of innovative work behavior. Moreover, findings of the current study generate implications especially for undergraduates, managers, and future researchers.

    Factors Affecting Work-Life Balance of Married Women Employees: A Study Related to the ABC Garment Factory

    This study examines the factor affecting on work-life balance of married women employees with special reference to ABC garment factory in Matugama. The working women employees are faced lot of challenges to achieve their work-life balance. Most of women employees fail to achieve desired level of work-life balance due to various factors. Therefore, in this study try to identify factors effect on work-life balance. The main objective for this study is to assess the effect of the factors on work-life balance. This is quantitative explanatory research work. This investigation has been addressed survey type research method and self-administered questionnaires has used to collect data from the sample of the ABC garment factory. Questionnaire are distributed to a sample of 201 of operational level employees who are currently working in ABC garment factory. Further secondary data has been collected through journal articles, internet, magazines and books. Researcher has been used techniques of descriptive analysis, regression and coefficient analysis, ANOVA test were conducted in this study to observe impact among variables and statistical package for social science SPSS was used as a main analytical software. The researcher has been identified four affecting factors namely, childcare, supporting system, working hours and role conflict. After investigation of these factors, the study revealed that out of four affecting elements, all variables have significant impact on work-life balance of married women employees of ABC garment factory. According to findings the null hypothesis rejected, and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. The discussion of findings, limitations and recommendations for future research are discussed in the end of the study.

    Factors Motivating Undergraduates in the Management Field to Pursue Professional Qualifications: Study of the State Universities, Sri Lanka

    This research study assures the factors influencing the management undergraduate’s intention to pursue a professional qualification upon their graduation. The model of BPC: Belief, Preference, and Constraints factors under the behavioral decision theory (BDT) is used as a factor to influence the intention of undergraduates to pursue professional qualifications. The study was analyzed under the quantitative method by sampling 353 management undergraduates from the University of Kelaniya. The current study shows that the undergraduates’ preference to hold an extra professional qualification, as well as their job prospect belief, social belief, capability belief, and preference factors, are all positively and significantly associated with their intention to pursue a professional qualification. Moreover, indicate that the constraints factor has an impact but a weak impact on the intention of pursuing a professional qualification. This study thus contributes to the management side education literature in Sri Lanka by providing evidence with regards to the major determinants of the management undergraduates’ intentions to pursue a professional qualification. Hence providing insight into students’ career-decision-making process. Extant literature has predominantly focused on developed countries thus this study provides valuable areas from the perspective of developing countries like Sri Lanka. Further, this study utilizes the BDT and BPC which differs from most prior career decision-making studies.

    Impact of Career Development on Employee Work Engagement: Study of Executive Employees of a Selected Apparel Organization in Colombo District, Sri Lanka

    The impact of career development on employees’ work engagement has become a unique topic, which inspire to study much deeper. The general objective of the study was to find out the impact of career development on work engagement of executive level employees in a selected apparel organization in Colombo district, Sri Lanka. Sub objective of the study was to find out, whether availability of career development opportunities impact on work engagement, whether perceived supervisory support impact on work engagement and whether career identity impact on work engagement. To identify the relationship and impact of the study, correlation and simple regression analyses were employed by the researcher. Five Point Likert Scale was used to examine the respondent’s rule. The sample of the study was 77 executive employees of a selected apparel organization in Colombo district, Sri Lanka. And sample was randomly selected. Data interpretation and analyses was conducted by using the statistical package (SPSS 26.0), to find out the mean, mode, variance, standard deviation, correlation and regression analyses. Major finding of the study was indicated that, there is a positive impact of career development on work engagement of executive level employees in the selected apparel organization in Colombo district.     Impact of Cultural Intelligence on Lower-Level Employees’ Job Performance: A Study based on Ansell Lanka (Pvt) Limited

    Cultural intelligence has developed as a critical component of effective performance and interaction within and between cultures. Employees with high levels of cultural intelligence play a critical role in bridging organizational divides and knowledge gaps by educating their peers about different cultures, transferring knowledge between otherwise disparate groups, developing interpersonal connections, and smoothing interpersonal processes in a multicultural workforce. Due to their ability to integrate diverse resources and help the business make the best use of the multiple perspectives that a multicultural workforce brings to the workplace. There is a research gap in manufacturing sector regarding assess the impact of cultural intelligence on lower-level employee job performance. Thus, the current study assesses the impact of cultural intelligence of lower-level employee job performance at Ansell Lanka Pvt Ltd which is a manufacturing company. The researcher identified four dimensions to assess the impact of cultural intelligence: cognitive cultural intelligence, meta-cognitive cultural intelligence, motivational cultural intelligence, and behavioral cultural intelligence. This study follows deductive approach and cross-sectional field study. The approach used for this includes a review of current literature and primary data linked to the research issue. A structured and standard questionnaire was used to obtain primary data. The study was conducted using a random sample of employees at Ansell Lanka. The correlation was the type of investigation, and Individual level analysis was the unit of analysis. Respondents in this survey included lower-level employees at Ansell Lanka Pvt Ltd. Descriptive statistics, Pearson Correlation coefficient, and simple random were applied to analyze data.

    The Impact of Green Training and Development on Green Organizational Citizenship Behavior: With The Mediating Effect of Green Employee Attitudes at a Selected Apparel Sector Company at Biyagama Export Processing Zone, Sri Lanka

    The primary objective of this research study is to examine the impact of green training and development on green organizational citizenship behavior with the mediating effect of employee green attitudes at the selected apparel sector company at Biyagama Export Processing zone, Sri Lanka. Based on research objectives, to test the above variables and their influence, an online questionnaire survey was created and distributed among selected respondents to collect primary data. The sample is comprised of 108 executive and above-level employees. Researcher selected the sample from its population by using simple random sampling method and the sample is comprised of various respondents based on their gender, age, educational level and the period of Service Years. Researcher analyzed collected data by using SPSS 25.0 software version. Findings of this research study indicate that the green training and development significantly and positively impact on green organizational citizenship behavior, as well as green training and development significantly and positively impact on green employee attitudes. Also, it was found that green employee attitudes significantly and positively impact on green organizational citizenship behavior. However, those relationships are not a strong correlation between variables. As well as there exists a significant direct impact of green employee attitudes on green organizational citizenship behavior, controlling for green training and development. Further, the indirect effect of green training and development on green organizational citizenship behavior was mediated by green employee attitudes, but it was not significant. According to the above findings, there are other factors that also influence the relationship between green training and development, green organizational citizenship behavior, and green employee attitudes.

    The Impact of Job Stress on Job Performance of Non-Managerial Employees in Peoples Bank, Rathnapura District, Sri Lanka

    In today's turbulent corporate environment, the majority of professionals are of varying opinion on the topic of job-related stress. Job stress is increased by the demanding and unpredictably serious environment in which business groups perform. Hence, the purpose of this study is to examine the impact of job stress of nonmanagerial employees on their performance with reference to the Peoples Bank of the Rathnapura district in Sri Lanka. Also, this study attempts to address job stress under three fundamental measurements such as time pressure, role ambiguity and workload over employee job performance. The banking industry plays a vital role in Sri Lanka's financial development. Despite its high dedication, evidence reveal that those in the financial sector are experiencing higher than average levels of job stress due to logical factors. A cross-sectional descriptive research design is used in the study arrangement. The researcher gathered information through a self-administrated standard survey from 109 representatives speaking to Peoples Banks in the Rathnapura district by using a Random sampling technique. The results uncovered that job stress (measurements including time pressure, role ambiguity and workload) has a significant impact on employee performance. The regression model is significant, and the independent variables predict 82.7% of job performance. Based on the coefficient values, the researchers concluded that role overload has the greatest impact on job stress since it has a higher beta worth than the other elements. The least impacted measurement was recognized as time pressure and greatest impacted measurement was recognized as role ambiguity. Consequently, this investigation will give plentiful motivation to experts to think about the stress of employees as a significant factor while expanding job performance.

    Impact of Mindfulness Training on Self-Control Behaviour: Study of Worker Level Employees in Selected Container Terminal at the Port of Colombo, Sri Lanka

    This study aims to examine the impact of mindfulness training on the self-control of worker-level employees at the selected container terminal at the port of Colombo, Sri Lanka. In addition, this study intends to contribute to filling the knowledge gap by looking into the relationship between mindfulness training and self-control. A critical literature review identified five dimensions of mindfulness training's independent variable. As per the research objectives, to test the above variables and their impact, an online questionnaire has been designed and distributed among a selected sample to collect primary data. The sample was drawn from its population using simple random sampling techniques, and it represents a diverse range of respondents based on their age, civil status, work experience, educational qualification, and so on. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 software. It was found that mindfulness training significantly impacts self-control and there is a significant relationship between mindfulness training and self-control. Finally, it is concluded that mindfulness training is an important behavioural intention instrument to enhance self-control. Further, it is concluded that effective mindfulness training leads to increased employee self-control. It is suggested that managers establish mindfulness-based exercises in the organization. Hence, it was recommended that the selected organization should consider the employee's self-control and mindfulness training to increase the efficiency level of worker-level employees. Cross-validation of the findings of this study to be done in cross-industry or cross-container terminals comparatively among the larger sample in subsequent studies is recommended, which will add more insight to the substance of the present study.

    The Impact of Organizational Justice on Employee Retention Intention: Study based on Executive Level Employees of Manufacturing Organization in Biyagama Export Processing Zone

    The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of organizational justice on employee’s retention intention of the executive level employees of rubber products manufacturing organization in Biyagama export processing zone. The main objective of the study was to determine the effect of organizational justice on executive level employees’ intention to retain. This study individually concerned about three main dimensions of organizational justice i.e. distributive justice, procedural justice and interactional justice with employee retention intention. The research continued as a quantitative study and the researcher used 96 sample of executive level employees out of 160 population through random sampling technique. Further, survey strategy with a standard pre tested questionnaire used to gather data for the study. The hypotheses were tested using correlation and regression analysis and the research findings revealed that there is a positive significance between the organizational justice and employee retention intention within the study context making researcher’s all four hypotheses accepted i.e. the distributive justice, procedural justice, interactional justice and overall organizational justice positively impact on employee retention intention. Even though many studies exist in relation to these constructs, limited number of studies have been done considering the Sri Lankan context. Thus present study fulfills the research requirements within Sri Lankan context

    Self-Efficacy and Academic Stress as Predictors of Student’s Life Satisfaction – With Reference to Management Faculty Students of University of Kelaniya

    This research was conducted to identify the Self-Efficacy and Academic Stress as Predictors of Student’s Life Satisfaction – With Reference to Management Faculty Students in Kelaniya University. It was followed by positivist philosophy; the study employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A sample of 217 participants was analyzed using the Morgan Table sampling technique. IBM SPSS software is used to analyze the collected data. The findings from the analysis and interpretation of the data underscored the importance of self-efficacy and its positive correlation with student satisfaction. It represented the high Cronbach's alpha coefficient for selected variables. The multiple regression analysis further confirmed the individual contributions of self-efficacy and academic stress to student satisfaction. Both predictors were found to be statistically significant, with standardized coefficients (Beta) of 0.688 and 0.796, respectively. Hypothesis testing affirms that higher self-efficacy positively influences life satisfaction, as does increased academic stress. These relationships provide nuanced insights into the psychological dimensions of student well-being. The study emphasizes the need for tailored interventions to enhance self-efficacy and mitigate academic stress, promoting overall student satisfaction. And all four hypotheses were accepted. While the research contributes valuable insight to the growing body of literature on student well-being, particularly in the Sri Lankan context, and provides a foundation for further exploration and intervention development.

    A Study on the Factors Affecting Organizational Commitment at Ocean Lanka (Pvt) Ltd

    Retaining highly skilled employees at an organization is evidently a challenging task for management. Therefore, the sole objective of this research was scoped to identify the effect of employees' salary, promotion, achievement, and responsibility factors on organizational commitments at Ocean Lanka. A quantitative research design was used in deductive approach to carry out this study among a sample set of employees selected by simple random sampling. Independent variables, namely salary, promotion, achievement, and Responsibility, were identified with the aid of literature. Then the dependent variable, 'organizational commitment' was mapped with independent variables to design the conceptual framework. Design of the conceptual framework for this research was built based on the previous literature related to this study area. Data required on the variables were directly gathered from Ocean Lanka employees by sharing a questionnaire in the form of a 'google form’. Then the collected data was screened and cleaned using the SPSS tool before analyzing. Further, SPSS was used to analyze the data by incorporating regression analysis to test the hypotheses defined at the conceptual framework designing stage. Finally, the conclusions were derived. It was evident that there are significant relationships between salary and organizational commitment, promotion and organizational commitment, achievement and organizational commitment, and achievement and organizational commitment.
