Item Effective Use of Retail Store Management System for Small Retail Store(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, 2021) Gunawardana, W.J.D.Y.; Wedasinghe, N.Small retail store owners make a huge commitment to the daily running of customer requirements. The retail sector categorized as retail store, moderate store, clean food store, specialty food and non-food store, and unorganized retail store. This research focuses specifically on effectively use of a small retail store management system. Small retailers face numerous key problems and the researchers highlighted that the main reason for the problems they face is lack of use systematic information system. Nevertheless, some retailers use an existing basic computer application and they are fundamental system. Therefore, focuses on effective management information systems to achieve their business objectives become a fashion. Research has conducted with the exploration in subjective and quantitative basis survey. This study, conducted with twelve structured interviews had with retail store owners covering the Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. Research reveals that the basic need of the retail owner is to increase profits by maintaining the retail outlets in a systematic manner even at the rural level. Furthermore including system features with retrieval of transaction details, effective stock management reminders about stock for effective management, forecast using artificial intelligence on stock management would be the key features to implement an effective retail store management system.Item Implementation of Business Process Management System: A Case Study Relevant to Janitorial Industry (Sithumina Cleaning Service Pvt Ltd)(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, 2021) Ranahansani, N.G.C.; Gunathilake, W.; Wedasinghe, N.Business Process Management (BPM) is the emerging concept that enables the business to simplify the business operation with technology. The main aim of development of the concept related to the BPM within the organization is enhance the efficiency of the organization. This research study identified the research problem of increasing the business process issues with the manual work and decline the employee satisfaction. This research paper is designed based on the survey results conducted with 50 participants from the Sithumina” Cleaning Service (PVT) Limited. The survey result found that the business organization is carried out all the business process manual, and business stakeholders are not satisfied with the current process. The analysis is done with the different perspective of organization process and the automation of the process. As a result, the business recommends automating the business process using customized software developed as Business Process Management (BPM).Item A Critical Analysis of Online Consumer Buying Behavior of Cosmetics Products in Sri Lanka(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, 2021) Savinda, K.W.K.; Wedasinghe, N.Consumer behavior is dynamic and differed from one product to another due to dissimilarities in the Social, Cultural, Psychological and Personal factors. Cosmetics are one of the essential products in Sri Lanka which the consumer demand has been shifted to the virtual platform as a result of current COVID-19 pandemic, development of IT platforms and computer literacy of the consumers, convenience, less time and cost. Insufficient research findings and research gaps were identified in Sri Lanka and global previous literature with related to the consumer purchasing behavior of cosmetics. Therefore, this study was conducted to achieve research objectives of identifying significant factors, any correlation and to form a new model related to the online consumer buying behavior of Sri Lanka. Qualitative and quantitative techniques were utilized to analyze the data which extracted form a structured questionnaire and a Likert scale questionnaire. Significant factors, a cumulative impact and a strong correlation were identified in the data analysis which satisfied the research objectives. A new model was constructed based on the research findings.
