    Determinant of Success of Operational Level Employees Empowerment: Evidence from Operational Level Employees in Apparel Manufacturing in Sri Lanka

    The concept and the practice of employee empowerment Human Resource Management is an important concept for the apparel sector as well. Because empowerment leads to both job satisfaction and organization’s goals achievements. Highly satisfied staff is most important in achieving this target. Therefore, this study attempts to investigate the factors of success of employee empowerment with special reference two garments factories in Kegalle and Gampaha area. In deciding the sample size of the Supporting employees for this research the researcher used 100 operational level employees for the sample. To test the hypothesis of this study, primary data were used. Primary data were collected through comprehensive Questionnaires given to Machine Operators and Supervisors. The data which collected from the questionnaire, analyzed descriptively using tables, frequencies and percentages. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 23 was used for statistical analysis process. Those data presented by using tables and graphs. According to the participants’ responses and the analysis of this study employee empowerment has a positive and significant impact on organization culture, leadership style, communication style and self-esteem leads towards higher level of employee’s empowerment. This study contributes to overcome the problems of employee empowerment in apparel sector and given a fair idea that which factors affected to the success of employee empowerment in apparel industry

    The Organizational Factors that Influence to Employee Performance in Apparel Industry in Sri Lanka

    The main objective of this study is to identify the impact of factors that influence employees’ performance in apparel companies in Sri Lanka. Data were gathered using a standard questionnaire from machine operators and simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample. According to results of the study, it was found that organizational factors (working environment, leadership style, organizational culture and motivation) positively influence the performance of machine operators of apparel companies in Sri Lanka.

    Impact of Leadership Style on Employees’ Job Satisfaction: A Case of Bank of Ceylon - Head Office

    Acquiring and preserving talent is the most vital challenge facing the banking industry. In order to gain the competitive advantage through those employees their performance should be efficient and effective. Accordingly, for that purpose they should be well satisfied. Leadership style is a major determinant of employees’ job satisfaction. Therefore the purpose of this study was to examine the relationship and the impact between leadership styles and job satisfaction among junior executive officers in Bank of Ceylon Head Office, Sri Lanka. A sample of 65 junior executive officers working in Bank of Ceylon Head Office was obtained to participate in this study. The studied leadership styles are transactional and transformational leadership while job satisfaction includes extrinsic and intrinsic job satisfaction. The findings of the study shows that there is a positive and moderate relationship of 40.4% between leadership style and job satisfaction, and transformational leadership and job satisfaction also had a 48.5% of positive and moderate relationship, while transactional leadership and job satisfaction had a strong negative relationship. But the overall impact of leadership and job satisfaction had only 16%, a small impact. And transformational leadership had 24% impact on job satisfaction. Therefore from this study Bank of Ceylon can maximize their profits upon choosing the transformational leadership style as the appropriate leadership style.
