N.The ‘Employee satisfaction’ and ‘organizational commitment’ are two key factors in employee retention across various work environments. The focus on assessing and analyzing employee satisfaction stems from concerns about the potential outcomes and behavioral consequences in the workplace. Low levels of job satisfaction among employees have been linked to undesirable behaviors, such as using company time for personal activities, withdrawing psychologically and physically from the job, and altering the work environment negatively. Other negative outcomes of low job satisfaction include attendance issues, higher turnover rates, early retirements, lack of active participation in job tasks, and psychological detachment from work. The results of this study will greatly influence the decision-making processes of managers, policymakers, and stakeholders. Understanding the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment will help achieve organizational goals by designing effective motivational programs for agents. The study relied on primary data gathered from insurance agents in the Colombo district. Data collection was conducted using a self-administered questionnaire designed to explore the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Primary data was analyzed by using descriptive statistical techniques, correlation coefficients analysis and multiple regression analysis. A study on the relationship between human resources management practices and organizational commitment of insurance agents will provide better understanding regarding organizational commitment. A study on the relationship between job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention among insurance agents positive relationship.Item THE IMPACT OF WORK LIFE BALANCE ON EMPLOYEES' JOB SATISFACTION: A STUDY OF EXECUTIVE LEVEL EMPLOYEES IN THE APPAREL INDUSTRY, SRI LANKA(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Piyaranga, G.C.; Gamage P. N.The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of work life balance (in the form of Flexible Working Arrangement, Job Sharing, Employee Brake/Leave, Employee Assistant Program) on Employees’ Job Satisfaction of employees who work in a well-reputed apparel sector organizations in Sri Lanka. The results of the study provide empirical evidence that the four dimensions and the overall Employee work life balance have a significantly positive impact on Job Satisfaction. This was conducted as a quantitative and cross-sectional study. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire using a simple random sampling technique. Correlation analysis and simple regression analysis were used to measure the relationship and to test the advanced hypotheses of the study by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The analyzed results show there is a significant positive impact on Employee Work life Balance from Flexible working arrangement, Job sharing, Employee brake/leave and Employee assistant program separately while ensuring a significantly positive relationship between overall independent and dependent variables. The results indicate that fair perceptions, particularly those derived from Flexible working arrangement, Job sharing, Employee brake/leave and Employee assistant program are critical in predicting the occurrence of employees’ job satisfaction. Therefore, managers should pay high attention to how they treat their employees in a fair manner because employees’ work life balance will affect the occurrence of their job satisfaction.Item IMPACT OF LEADERSHIP, TEAMWORK, AND EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE: A STUDY OF A LEADING TIRE MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN SRI LANKA(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Jayalath, A.G.K.H.; Gamage P. N.This study explores the influence of leadership, teamwork, and employee engagement on employee performance with a case study set on a leading tire manufacturer in Sri Lanka. In a highly competitive and dynamic manufacturing sector, employee performance is a prime mover of organizational goals. However, there is a major void in the empirical field regarding leadership styles, teamwork dynamics, employee engagement and their influence on performance in the Lankan manufacturing context. The study adopts a quantitative approach to research and sets out to gather primary data through a cross-sectional design. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to 300 operational and executive-level employees from the production and supply chains that had been selected with the help of a simple random sampling method. The data were analyzed descriptively and with correlation and regression analyses in SPSS software to establish the relationships between the key variables. An attributing factor to effective collaboration, marked by trust, cooperation, and mutual support, increases productivity by creating a certain synergy among workers. Employee engagement too, played a vital role and showed that if workers are engaged, they have higher levels of productivity, dedication, and job satisfaction. This article adds to the theory and methods by pointing to leadership, collaboration, and employee participation as crucial elements to improve employee performance within the Sri Lankan manufacturing sector. It provides practical recommendations for HR professionals and organizational leaders to accomplish strategic plans such as leadership training programs, team-building events, and employee engagement approaches that will force the production of a successful and growing organization.
