    IMPACT OF EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE IN ABC APPAREL COMPANY

    The objective of this paper is to analyses how employee engagement and Employee Commitment influence employee performance with the mediating effect of employee commitment. The result obtained through quantitative method and regression analysis of the survey data shows a significant positive relationship between employee engagement and performance with beta value of 0.482 (p = 0.000), which underscores the importance of the engagement in boosting the performance and success of businesses. As for any ties with performance, all the components included in this competence positively influence performance data but to a lesser extent in this particular case (beta = 0.149, p = 0.020). The analysis with the moderation interaction term (Employee Engagement x Employee Commitment) as the mediator was significant only marginally (beta = 0.799, p = 0.040). 18 Engagement can be seen to have a positive impact on output jointly with commitment.

    IMPACT OF WORK ENVIRONMENT ON EMPLOYEE INTENTION TO RETENTION WITH MEDIATION EFFECT OF EMPLOYEE COMMITMENT [EVIDENCE FROM A SELECTED PRIVATE HOSPITAL IN COLOMBO DISTRICT]

    The most precious resources of an organization are the employees, who are considered the lifeblood of an organization, and it is important to retain these employees. The main purpose of this study was to identify whether the work environment impacts on the employees’ intention to retention with mediation effect of employee commitment in a selected private sector hospital in the Colombo district, Sri Lanka. This study was conducted as a cross-sectional field study with a sample of fifty-four (54) employees in the selected private sector hospital in the Colombo district, Sri Lanka. Primary data were collected through a standard questionnaire administrated via a google form in an online survey. The collected data were analyzed with the support of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) employing correlation, regression, and descriptive statistics. In this study, the work environment is the independent variable, employee intention to retention acts as the dependent variable and employee commitment serves as the mediator. The findings revealed a positive impact of work environment on employee intention to retention, and employee commitment significantly mediates the relationship between work environment and employee intention to retention. Furthermore, this study encourages organizational management to take necessary actions to maintain a better work environment with support of supervisors and peers. This can lead to more productive, effective and engaged employees, while also reducing high absenteeism and turnover rates within the organization. However, the study was limited only to one private sector hospital in the Colombo district Sri Lanka. Therefore, the current study recommended that future research be conducted across organizations in Sri Lanka to obtain more comprehensive and generalizable results.

    Examining the Impact of Organizational Politics on Employee Commitment: The Moderating Role of Political Skills among Public Sector Employees in Sri Lanka.

    This study assesses the importance of organizational politics in shaping employee commitment, emphasizing the complex interactions between perceived politics and individual characteristics. Specifically, we examined the moderating role of political skills in the relationship between perceived politics and employee commitment. The specific impact of political skills on employee commitment related to organizational politics is an unexplored area, particularly in Sri Lanka. Therefore, this research aims to bridge this gap by not only examining the negative relationship between organizational politics and employee commitment but also clarifying the moderating effect of political skills. The present study focuses on public sector employees in Sri Lanka. Out of 400 questionnaires distributed, a total of 211 questionnaires were returned and usable. We used a convenience sampling method to capture the complexity of this relationship. The study revealed a significant negative relationship between perceived politics and employee commitment. Furthermore, our findings highlight the significant role of political abilities as a moderator, demonstrating how individuals' confidence in their abilities moderates the effects of perceived politics on commitment. Therefore, political skills positively moderate the relationship between organizational politics and employee commitment. Our study underscores the importance of organizations recognizing and mitigating the adverse effects of organizational politics on employee commitment. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of considering individual characteristics such as political skills to effectively understand and manage workplace dynamics. This research contributes to both theoretical advances and practical implications for organizational management and human resource practices.

    The Impact of Perceived Job Security on Employee Commitment: A Study of Non- Executive Level Employees in Outsourcing Companies

    The main objective of this study was to examine whether there is a significant impact of job security on employee commitment of non-executive level in outsourcing companies. This was important study because it will help organizations in outsourcing industry to have an in depth understanding influence of job security on employee commitment. The population of interest was the non-executive employees in five outsourcing companies under study. Sample of the study comprised 242 non-executive employees and the stratified random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 164 respondents. Questionnaire method was used as the data collection method for the study. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and regression analysis were used as the main data analysis tools in this study. According to regression coefficient, there was a positive impact of job security on employee commitment. Therefore, this study found that perceived job security significantly impact on employees’ commitment

    Spirituality: A Boon for Organizational Performance.

    Organizational management is one of the contemporary delinquents, most of the organizations have to address. The issues like job satisfaction, employee commitment and employee performance are the crucial factors of organizational management. Spirituality is a prominent and actual factor that can speed up satisfaction, commitment and performance. A substantial research gap connecting spirituality with job satisfaction, employee commitment and employee performance exist. This study reconnoiters the link between spirituality and job satisfaction and the influence of job satisfaction on employee commitment and performance. The study adopted a survey method to collect data from teachers from six different streams. To measure convergent and discriminant validities, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was adopted and later tested the structural model framework and research hypotheses. Findings of the current study suggest that spirituality has a direct influence on employee satisfaction and also endorse the linkages between job satisfaction, employee commitment and performance.

    Employer Branding and its Impact on Developing Sales Force Commitment in Pharmaceutical Industry in Sri Lanka

    In today’s fast-changing business environment it is crucial for an organization to possess a highly qualified and motivated workforce in order to keep up with the fast pace of the market. The demand of competent personnel is increasing steadily, in particular for key-positions which require in-depth knowledge and expertise. However most of industries face big challenge to retain their employees within their organizations for long periods. The performances of pharmaceutical companies mainly depend on their Salesforce and it was noted that most of sales persons frequently change their companies and show low commitment towards their organizations. With the aforesaid background the present study is focused on assessing the impact of employer branding strategies on sales force commitment in pharmaceutical industry in Sri Lanka. As per the empirical nature of the study, proposed research has been designed as a quantitative study based on deductive approach. Both primary and secondary data will be collected for the study. Secondary data will be mainly collected through available online data, based on government reports, journals, articles, and publications of pharmaceutical industry. Primary data will be collected based on the survey among medical representatives, field managers and field coordinators who are working in registered pharmaceutical companies in Sri Lanka. All medical representatives, field managers and field coordinators of the pharmaceutical companies will be taken as target population, out of them 200 medical representatives, field managers and field coordinators will be taken as sample, proposed sample method is Random Sampling. The research instrument will be a self-administrated questionnaire. Data will be analyzed based on frequencies, percentages and descriptive statistical while correlation analysis and regression analysis will be adopted for testing hypothesis. The findings of the study will be helped to design employer branding strategies for improving the organizational commitment among Salesforce of pharmaceutical companies in Sri Lanka.
