    OCCUPATIONAL STRESS ON QUALITY OF THE WORK LIFE, THE MODERATING ROLE OF ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT AMONG PLANTATION EXECUTIVES IN UP COUNTRY PLANTATIONS SRI LANKA

    This research investigates the impact of occupational stress on the quality of work life of executive-level employees in the Sri Lankan tea plantation industry, with a focus on organizational support as a moderating factor. The study explores how the demanding nature of the tea industry, characterized by high workload, remote working conditions, and fluctuating market demands, affects the well-being and productivity of plantation executives.Using a structured quantitative approach, data were collected from 95 plantation executives through surveys measuring occupational stress, Quality of the work life, and organizational support. Analytical methods, including correlation and regression analysis, revealed a significant inverse relationship between occupational stress and Quality of the work life, with organizational support mitigating adverse effects.Key stressors such as role ambiguity, under-participation, and poor peer relations were identified, highlighting areas for intervention. The findings emphasize the necessity for supportive organizational policies, enhanced leadership practices, and stress management programs to improve Quality of the work life.This study contributes to bridging the research gap in employee well-being within the plantation sector and offers actionable recommendations for enhancing productivity and work-life balance in the tea industry.

    The Impact of Training and Development on Employee Performance at Semi-Government Sector Organizations in Sri Lanka

    This study attempts to identify the impact of training and development on employee performance of executive level employees at two semi-government organizations in Sri Lanka. Further, it examines the relationship between training and development and employee performance, the level of performance and measure the differences of employee performance based on age and gender differences. This study was a quantitative and cross sectional survey where data was collected through a structured questionnaire. Convenience sampling technique was applied to select the sample and the sample consisted of 99 executive level employees. The data were analyzed using the computer based statistical data analysis package, SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) and Correlation and Regression analysis were used as analytical tools. Finding revealed that there is positive impact of training and development on employee performance of executive level employees. Accordingly, the researcher suggests to establish proper training and development programs to ensure higher level performance from employees

    The Impact of Work-Life Balance on Job Performance: A Study of Executive Level Employees in Apparel Industry in Sri Lanka

    This study assesses the impact of work-life balance on job performance of executive level employees in apparel industry in Sri Lanka. This is a cross sectional study. A positive relationship between work-life balance and job performance was hypothesized. A standard questionnaire was used to collect primary data. Simple random sampling was applied and final sample consisted of 80 executive level employees from two apparel sector organizations. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, reliability and regression were used to analyze the data and prepare the conclusion and the data was analyzed by SPSS 23.0. Findings revealed that there is a 34.7% of significant impact of work-life balance on employee job performance in the tested domain

    The Nexus between Employee Induction and Job Satisfaction: A Case of Executive Level Employees in Ceylon Tea Services PLC

    Induction is an important Human Resource Management (HRM) function which organizations should engage in with the overall aim of increasing organizational productivity and employee motivation. According to the extant literatures there is a significance relationship between induction program and job satisfaction of employees. Thus, induction has an important part to add value to the employee commitment through its effectiveness. The primary objective of the current study was to explore the relationship between current induction programs of the selected company and employees' job satisfaction. Consequently, this study investigates how each component of induction affect to the employee satisfaction. Seventy four (74) executives those who have completed a continuous service period of 3 years in the company and have participated for the company induction were selected as the sample. Convenience sampling was applied to select the aforementioned sample. Data were collected through a standard questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and the correlation test were used to derive the conclusions. Findings reveal that 71% of the respondents are either dissatisfied or strongly dissatisfied about the current induction that they have. Further, it is found that there is a positive, but insignificant correlation between current induction programs (including the policy) and job satisfaction of executives in the company. Hence, having assessed the correlation it is recommended to give the program at the beginning of the recruitment and it is suggested to get the participation of senior management, concern on human side when design the program, gradually give introduction on the company and give relevant information gradually. Through following above process can make satisfied employees with the induction program.

    Flexible Work Schedules and Employee Performance: Case Study of Executives in Asian Alliance Insurance PLC

    The purpose of this research was to examine the relationship between flexible work schedules and employee performance of Asian Alliance Insurance PLC. Having observed the current situation, researcher identified that this organization has sound flexible work arrangement system and employees choose most suitable work schedule. Executives in the aforementioned organization was the population of the study. Study sample size is forty three (43), and convenience sampling technique was used to select the sample. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire. Correlation and regression were used to test the advanced hypotheses. It is found that there is a positive relationship between flexible work schedule and performance of the executives in the tested domain. Executives in Asian Alliance Insurance most of prefer work with flexible work schedule. In the flexible work schedule system most of the insurance companies are still practicing this on the marketing and sales side employees. But the scenario of the management level employees most of the insurance industry managers enjoy this facility. So if the company can make the target and appoint task and duties to the workers rather than more flexible approach it makes more motivated executive level employees. Findings revealed that executive’s performance in Asian Alliance Insurance positively link with flexible work schedule in the company established.
