Item THE IMPACT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE; SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE FAST-FOOD MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY IN WESTERN PROVINCE, SRI LANKA(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Wimalasuriya, W.A.S.D.; Harshani, M.D.R.The purpose of this research is to identify impact of psychology safety on employee performance in fast-food manufacturing industry in western province. In addition to that, this study intends to contribute to filling the empirical gap related to the impact of psychological safety on employee performance in the fast-food manufacturing industry. There is a less research context in fast food manufacturing in Sri Lanka. The convince sampling method will be used in selecting respondents for the study. The researcher collected data from 144 executive level and above staff employees in the fast-food manufacturing industry through a questionnaire. In the data analysis, the researcher employed SPSS software. Simple linear regression and multiple linear regression analysis methods were used in data analysis to achieve the research objectives. According to the research, the results indicate that psychological safety and knowledge sharing have a positive relationship with employee performance. The researcher provided several implications based on the study's results. Also, the study cleared the path for future research areas on psychological safety and employee performance.Item The Impact of Knowledge Sharing on Individual Work Performance: A Study among Baby-Boomers and Generation Y Managerial Level Employees in ABC (Pvt) Limited(5th HRM Student Research Symposium 2018, Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2018) Perera, G. L. A.; Sangarandeniya, Y. M. S. W. V.The purpose of this study is to find the impact of knowledge sharing on individual work performance and find the difference in the impact of knowledge sharing impact on individual work performance between generation y and baby boomers. The survey data were collected from 97 executive and above employees in ABC (Pvt.) Ltd. Company, in printing media sector, Sri Lanka. Standard questionnaires were used to collect data from the sample and correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to assess the research model. The results of the study indicate that the knowledge sharing has a significant positive impact on individual work performance. Further, Employees in baby boomer generation have a greater impact of knowledge sharing on individual work performance than Generation Y employees. Therefore, finally the results revealed that there is a significant difference between baby boomers’ impact of knowledge sharing on individual work performance and Generation Y employees’ impact of knowledge sharing on individual work performanceItem Impact of Social Media Characteristics on Knowledge Sharing: With Special Reference to Facebook(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2016) Jayathilake, M.K.; Jayarathna, L.C.H.Social media is not a new phenomenon for the research culture in the world nowadays. Academics and researchers are interested in the effects of social media on different figures, with a specific focus on the most popular social media website; Facebook. With the dawn of social web initiatives, some argued that these new emerging tools might be useful in knowledge sharing through providing interactive and collaborative technologies in the society. This research will strive to study how far Facebook can contribute to the knowledge sharing purpose of its users by testing an adapted model for social media and tacit knowledge sharing developed by Panahi , Watson , & Partridge, (2012). Accordingly, five characteristics of social media which were identified by the model developers, as main components towards knowledge sharing, will be used in the conceptual model of the study. They are social interactions, experience sharing, observations, informal relationship and mutual trust. A sample of Sri Lankan employees in the eighteen to thirty four age group who use Facebook as their primary social media network will participate as the respondents of the study. Descriptive statistics, frequency analysis and multiple regression analysis will be applied in the study as the statistical tools. This study fills a gap in literature by acknowledging the findings of the study which developed a model for social media and tacit knowledge sharing; hence it will test and validate the model in most popular social media network in Sri Lanka.Item A Study of the Organizational Culture for Knowledge Sharing in Selected Banks Branches(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, 2015) Pushpamali, N.N.C.Knowledge has become the most vital resource for gaining competitive advantage. Banks has recognized the relevance and importance of sharing knowledge among employees. The purpose of this research paper is to analysis the factors that influence on knowledge sharing in selected bank branches. Research identified several factors; trust, collaboration, communication among staff, information system, reward systems, organizational structure, management practices, shared vision and employee union facilitate knowledge sharing in organizations. The questionnaire was used for data collection. Gathered data was analyzed in descriptive statistics using SPSS software. Study reveals that Information systems, sharing a common vision and trust among employees exist at a higher level in the selected organizational culture as knowledge sharing elements than other identified factors. Findings of this study provide useful information and support to extend the understanding of banks in motivating their employees to engage in knowledge sharing practices.
