Abstract

In post-war Sri Lanka, although, the government has started to take drastic measures to fortify unity among different ethnic groups, still long-term peace in Sri Lanka requires the creation of political, legal, cultural and educational institutions that will foster a multiethnic environment (Keerawella, 2013). Especially, promoting ethnic reintegration in higher educational institutions can be viewed as very important since they hold a unique position in creating an environment that will establish inter-ethnic relations among students from varied ethnic backgrounds (Gurin, 2002).
