    The Impact of HR Personnel Attitude on HRIS towards It Success: A Study Conducted in Gampaha District, Sri Lanka

    Numerous researches have been conducted regarding the area of Information System (IS) success, considering the success determinants as user attitude, system usage and user satisfaction. However, no significant attention reported to have been given in particularly to the success of Human Resource Information System (HRIS) based on the system user perception. Thus, this empirical analysis investigates the impact of perceived attitude of the users of HRIS on its success. Accordingly, the study focuses on the impact of user attitude constructs, such as, Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness, based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) towards the HRIS success. Quantitative methodology was used to test the hypotheses and to achieve the objectives. A sample of eighty HR personnel who use HRIS in the Gampaha District, Sri Lanka were selected for the sample. The convenience sampling technique was applied to select the sample. A structured questionnaire was used to collect the data, while the SPSS software was used to analyze them and the Pearson Correlation analysis and regression were also used. Analysis revealed that there is a positive relationship between HRIS user attitude and HRIS success, which implies that there is a positive impact on the HRIS user attitude towards the HRIS success. All the hypotheses of this study were accepted. Based on the research findings, the researcher recommends ways to enhance success of HRIS by accelerating the perceived user attitude towards HRIS.

    The Impact of Motivation on Employee Motivation: An Empirical Study of Non-Executive Employees in Camso Loadstar, Ekala Tyre Division 01

    This research aim to provide practitioners in the rubber industry the ability to recognize motivators for the employees based on the study done in Ekala Tire Division 01 at Camso Loadstar (Pvt) Ltd. The rubber industry consists of different type of operating departments such as Production, Engineering, Mold Maintenance, Stores etc. This study focuses on employees in whole department who are selected randomly. The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting employee motivation in motivating operational employees in Ekala Tire Division at Camso Loadstar. It also focuses on understanding the level of motivation of the employees in Ekala Tire Division at Camso Loadstar. After creating thorough research and literature reviews, a questionnaire was designed. The sample for this study was selected using the convenience sampling technique. It consist 100 operational employees taken from all the departments in the Ekala Tire Division at Camso Loadstar. To collect the information a questionnaire was distributed among the members in sample. The questionnaire was consisted of two parts; one part includes with basic demographic information of the respondents and second with a set of items prepared with the Likert scale was given to confirm these motivational preferences. The basic demographic information collected includes section, age, gender, and marital status, and district, type of employment, experience, educational qualification and promotions whereas motivational preference include job security, wages, interesting work and working condition.

    The Impact of Performance Appraisal Qualities on Employee Motivation: A Study of Managerial Level Employees of Polytex Garments Limited at Ja-Ela in Sri Lanka

    The relationship between performance appraisal qualities and employee motivation has been well documented. With the insight of the theories such as equity theory, expectancy theory and goal-setting theory the current study aims to investigate the impact of the performance appraisal qualities on employee motivation at Polytex Garments Ltd, Ja-Ela. The study used an explanatory research design in the form of a survey. The population of the study is 171 managerial employees of Polytex Garments Ltd. However, only 120 respondents were selected by using stratified random sampling from the target population and in each stratum. The quantitative data was analyzed by descriptive statistics using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). A simple linear regression model was used to determine the coefficients of the impact of the performance appraisal qualities on employee motivation. The findings show that a moderate positive significant correlation exits between performance appraisal qualities and employee motivation. It can be concluded that performance appraisal qualities have a significant impact on the employee motivation at Polytex Garments Ltd, Ja-Ela. The research is focused only a one single organization in the apparel industry due to time limitations. However, in a similar vein, the study can be extended to cover more organizations in same industry, well as in different industries in order for generalization of the findings. Further, the study can be extended for finding other factors affecting to the employee motivation than the qualities of performance appraisal. As recommends, it can be concluded that effective feedback and communication, giving training opportunities for employees to acquire skills and encouraging employees’ participation in performance appraisal processes are all essential for effective performance appraisal process in an organization
