Item The Impact of High Performance Work System on Innovative Employee Behavior of Operational Employee Behavior with Special Reference to One of Leading Tiles Manufacturing Company in Sri Lanka(5th HRM Student Research Symposium 2018, Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2018) Siriwardana, S. W.; Silva, H. M. S. V.The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of high performance work system on innovative employee behavior of operational employees in one of leading tiles manufacturing companies in Sri Lanka. This is a quantitative study conducted within the positivistic research philosophy using the deductive approach. This study was an individual-level study with a sample of 68 operational level employees. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample. Survey strategy was followed and a self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection. Simple linear regression was used to test the direct impact and it revealed that high performance work system impact on innovative employee behavior. Further, it found that the employee engagement is a partial mediator on the relationship between high performance work system (HPWS) and innovative employee behavior. Findings suggest that company can maintain more high performance work system to increase innovative employee behavior. Based on the findings, it is suggested to use training programs and compensation practices to improve innovative behavior during the working time and to develop ability enhancing practices like training programs to stimulate employees in order to generate new knowledge and utilize the gained knowledge to meet higher performance standards.Item Factors Impact on Perceived Adoption towards Self Service Kiosks in Sri Lankan Public Banking; Western Province(5th HRM Student Research Symposium 2018, Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2018) Silva, B. M. D. S.; Silva, H. M. S. V.This research paper examined the impact of consumer perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness on consumer adoption towards Self-service kiosks (SSK). Moreover, moderating impact of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness on attitude of banking customers was also tested in this study. A conceptual model of adoption process for SSK is developed and tested among Sri Lankan public banking consumers in western province. Based on Technology Acceptance Module, A linear structural relations methodological approach is used to develop conceptual framework. The current study found that both perceived ease of use and usefulness have direct impact on adoption of SSK. Further, consumer attitude acts as a partial mediator between the relationship of consumer perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and SSK adoption. This study has emphasized that system designers and bank managers need to consider system ease of use, perceived usefulness and consumer attitude towards technology when designing and implementing self-service kiosks system in Sri Lanka. Since all variables have moderate impact on consumer adoption it is important to consider other antecedents when designing a self-service kiosk.Item Impact of Tax Policy Changes on Tax Revenue in Sri Lanka(5th HRM Student Research Symposium 2018, Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2018) Shahani, M. I. A.; Silva, H. M. S. V.The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of tax policy changes on tax revenue in Sri Lanka. This is a quantitative study conducted using deductive approach and secondary data sources. This study was carried out by using secondary data sources of Annual Reports of Central Bank and Performance Report of the Commissioner General of Inland Revenue of Sri Lanka. Data for the time series from 2006 to 2016 was used to carry out this study. Further, interview method was used in order to identify reasons and possible factors which affect the impact of variables. Data analysis was done by using both descriptive analysis and inferential statistics. The relationship between two variables were identified by using Pearson Correlation and concluded that there is a positive moderate correlation between variables. The first hypothesis was tested using linear regression analysis and it was concluded that there is no significant impact of tax policy changes on tax revenue within that period from 2006 to 2016. There are very limited number of studies done in Sri Lanka in the field of taxation and difficult to reach some data with the policies and procedure of the government of the country. Since, there were no any studies done for the period from 2006 to 2016 to assess the impact of tax policy changes on tax revenue, thus study fulfills the requirement accordingly. There may some more factors such as tax evasion, tax avoidance and businesses changing their industries etc. affecting on the tax revenue of the country other than the tax policy changesItem The Impact of Workplace Bullying on Employee’s Intention to Quit: With Special Reference to one of the Leading Sales and Distribution Company in Sri Lanka.(5th HRM Student Research Symposium 2018, Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2018) Senarathna, P. V. N. N.; Silva, H. M. S. V.The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of workplace bulling on employee’s intention to leave in the context of sales representatives in one of a leading sales and distribution company in Sri Lanka. Additionally, this study examines the moderating effect of Perceived Organizational Support (POS) in between the concepts of workplace bulling and employee’s intention to quit. This study is a quantitative study and carried out following the deductive approach. Meanwhile, this study is used 63 sample of sales representatives for the study. Moreover, this study is used random sampling technique as the sampling technique of the study. Survey strategy was used and standard pre tested questionnaire was used to gather data. First hypothesis was tested using regression analysis. It was identified that there was a positive significance impact between the workplace bulling and employee’s intention to leave within the study context. Afterwards, moderator was analyzed using the Moderator Multiply Regression (MMR) and POS was not identified as the moderator in the relationship between the workplace bulling and intention to leave in current context. Thus, Hypothesis 2 was rejected. Even though studies exist in relation to these constructs, limited number of studies have been done considering the Sri Lankan context. Hence, present study fulfills the research requirements within Sri Lankan context and proven theory of unfolding model can be applied in the Lankan context as well.
