In this competitive market it is astonishing that the faces of television advertising rapidly moving to capture various experiences of promoting products and persuade the mind of the consumer with the newness of attraction. In the age of digital, advertising moves to “virtual environments” as a new figure. This approach of technology has more access to emerge a perception in consumers mind, through the eye. Though this 3D software based virtual environments are utilized as an effective high-detail generated tool for advertising in the world, the definition of 3D environments still use as traditional advertising ways as past in Sri Lanka. Therefore the topic, “do the 3D software based virtual environments construct as an art beyond from technology”, is one of the contemporary issues that should be redefined in Sri Lankan society and industry. The main objective covered here is how to use the 3D software techniques within an artistic approach to constructing virtual environment of the advertisement. Three categorized TV advertisement’s environments of Architectural based, Natural Environment based and Liquid based forms of 3D settings were used to analyse the successes of visual output. The analysis consisted with the scientific research methodologies of content analysis and interviews. The success of virtual environment depends on live and realistic nature of the output visual of advertisement. The main purpose reviewed via this article, is a How 3D software based virtual environments construct as art beyond from its‟ technology that can be added highly detailed eye-pleasing surround inside of the advertisement’s visual performance that real world can do. The „space‟ is a production that narrates the nature of relationships, hierarchies, organizational structures, rejection and acceptance of certain people and groups who live or interact with that particular space. Perhaps the story narrated by the spatial studies differs considerably from the story narrated by the literature. Such relationships, hierarchies and organizational structures that maintained in monasteries are reconstructed mainly considering the literary sources which have their own limitations and biases. Therefore, there is a vacuum in studies of the spatial organization of Buddhist monasteries. In this paper the spatial organization of Nalanda monasteries of Bihar (4th century to 13th century) is analyzed. Objectives of this paper are to explore and reconstruct the above mentioned different relationships, hierarchies and organizational structures that have been maintained among inmates and between lay and clergy of Nalanda, a Buddhist monastery that represents a mature level of the development of the idea of “monastery”. In exploring this, archaeological and architectural remains of ritual and residential spaces will be analyzed in detail horizontally and vertically. The way of the ritual and residential spaces are organized, their orientations, centrality and different levels of restrictive methods adopted through spatial organization will be analyzed here. Several levels of hierarchies among monks and between lay and clergy are seen. While attempting to keep lay people away from the spaces of the monks the effort is seen to welcome them with certain restrictions and limitations.Item Admiration of Nature’s Beauty by Noble Disciples with Special Reference to Thera Gātha.(Department of Philosophy, University of Kelaniya,Sri Lanka, 2017) Wanarathana Thero, Rideegama.Item An analysis of how fear, distrust, division between the parties and specific types of social structures resulted in Protracted Social Conflicts: Special reference to Sri Lankan Conflict.(Department of Philosophy, University of Kelaniya,Sri Lanka, 2017) Peiris, M.J.Item An Analysis of the Effects of Domestic Violence(SIDA/SAREC Research Library, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2016) Herath, O.V.Item An anthropological study of ‘Rathikāma Bali Yāgaya (Bali ritual)’ in traditional folk medicine to treat infertility(Journal of Archaeology, Tourism & Anthropology, 2020) Srishan, G.A.A.N.; Abhayasundere, P.N.; Jayasiri, A.A.J.; Wijayarathne, W.K.M.; Dissanayake, D.M.K.G.K.Reproductive processes and the generation of posterity are important for the survival of organisms. As man became accustomed to civilized life, motherhood and fatherhood were considered noble and fortunate things. Accordingly, a married couple without children had to face various forms of social stigma. Because married people who do not have children are believed by people to be a symbol of unluck. Thus, infertility is recognized as a disease and there are various treatments for it. Traditional folk medicine in Sri Lanka also offers various treatments to cure infertility. Among them, the ‘Sabaragamuwa Rathikāma Bali ritual’ is performed for both men and women. The researchers aim to study this ‘Rathikāma Bali ritual’ for the curing of infertility in traditional folk medicine and the cultural value given to rituals in indigenous medicine. To achieve these objectives, a content analysis of qualitative data collected using secondary sources is performed here. To alleviate vaginal discharge and vaginitis related diseases in women, the Sabaragamuwa ‘Bali adura’ (Bali performer) conducts the Rathikāma Bali ritual. An idol is made using clay for this ritual. In this Rathikāma Bali statue, a woman with a naked upper body and with a ‘punkalasa’ (pot of prosperity) in her right hand and a ‘sewla’ (Cuckoo bird) in her left hand is moulded. When moulding the Bali statue, the woman’s figure is placed on the man's lap. After the introduction of the Bali statue to the patient (baliya pāwā deema), the ‘Namaskārā’ and ‘Vēēdimālāwa’ (poems and prose) are recited. In this way, all the rites are performed and the Rathikāma Bali ritual is performed till dawn. They believe that looking at the Bali statue and listening to poetry and drinking local medicine until the next morning will cure the condition.Item Anxiety disorders: causes and mechanisms as in biological, behavioral and psychoanalytic perspectives(Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2016) Jayathilaka, P.Item The applicability of adopting European Union’s integration model in South Asia: A comparative analysis of EU and SAARC(Department of Economics, University of Kelaniya, 2016) Gunasena, T.The European integration is three decades older than the South Asian integration. At present European Union (EU) stands as an outstanding regional body with huge success in the world. South Asian integration has not yet completed the basic premises of economic integration and the aim of this paper is to comparatively analyze the two regional integration processes and to identify how far is it appropriate to adopt the European integration model to accelerate the South Asian integration in the future. One specific objectives of this paper is to identify the core differences between the two regional settings and next objective is to determine the theoretical relevance of certain existing theories in describing the two integration processes. Another specific objective is to evaluate the suitability of adopting EU model in South Asia and then to recommend the necessary reforms for South Asia to attain better integration. To that end the data triangulation method has been used to accumulate secondary data from multiple sources available in electronic and printed form including books, journals, web, reports, historical records and treaties. Qualitative content analysis has been used since this is a documentary analysis and Content analysis evaluate document texts and to test theoretical relevance to understand data more comprehensively and scientifically. It will test prevailing theories in different contexts when compare the categories of different settings. Key findings depicts that there is a sharp diversity between the EU and South Asian region in terms of trade, economic development, human development, industrialization, urbanization, trade liberalization, income levels, poverty alleviation and political integration. Amidst these differences the applicability of adopting the European model proves to be a failure due to many factors. The democratic nature of the countries and their practice of free market economic policies along with the successful resolutions for political tensions in Europe significantly caused the long term success of European integration whereas South Asian countries are suffering from huge diversities in economic, geographic, cultural, trade and military terms within the region and hesitate to cooperate with one another due to these differences. Indo-Pakistan political tensions blended with smaller states’ fear psychosis of Indian hegemony is the greatest constraint for better integration in South Asia. South Asia required rearranging the structure of its regional organization and opening avenues to discuss contentious issues among member states and needing to establish real democracies in their countries apart from building strong and reliable interactions among people to people contacts while adopting more comprehensive free market economic policies domestically.Item Application of Worshiping Six Directions in Sīgāla Sutta to Human Resource Development.(Department of Philosophy, University of Kelaniya,Sri Lanka, 2017) Padmasiri, M.K.D.; Mahalekamge, W.G.S.Item The Attitude towards Living Being in Contemporary Western Philosophy(Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2016) Attanayake, C.K.Item Bamboo Crafts and Associated Knowledge System of The Karbi Tribe of Assam Plains, North- Eastern India: A Cultural Heritage(Department of Archaeology, University of Kelaniya, 2020) Das, Pritam; Bain, Worrel Kumar; Gogoi, BitupanBamboo, one of the precious plant resources of the earth, plays a cardinal role in influencing civilised life patterns in Southern and Eastern Asian countries, where they are found in abundance. It has a long history in people's lives as cultural material. India is the second richest country in the generic bamboo resources after China. In India, bamboo is one of the most important forest species and has a wide distribution throughout the country and contributes to the rural economy. The North-Eastern region of India has a rich diversity of bamboo. It is integral to the life and culture of the ethnic communities of this region. In this area, the usage of bamboo made it an indispensable commodity for the rural people. The Karbi tribe of the Assam State of India has a rich cultural heritage of arts and crafts. They are masters in the skilful tradition of bamboo craft. This knowledge is essentially community-specific and restricted to the community and is accumulated through long interaction with the environment. Nowadays, this craft tradition is on the verge of extinction due to many reasons. Therefore, it is a timely requirement to document this craft tradition associated with the traditional knowledge system and wisdom. The present study has been designed in this context. During the study, standard anthropological methods have been applied. The present paper is based on the authors' empirical findings, and it probes into the cultural heritage of bamboo crafts of the Karbi community, which is governed by traditional knowledge and skills through empiricism. The paper also focuses on the importance and cultural significance of bamboo within the said community. The study also highlights this craft tradition's present scenario and provides recommendations to revive this heritage tradition.Item Buddhist Teaching towards Peace(SIDA/SAREC Research Library, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2016) Peiris, M.J.D.Item Can the Punishment on Crime be justified(Department of Philosophy, University of Kelaniya,Sri Lanka, 2017) De Zoysa, H.N.Item Categories of International Migration(Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2015) Madanayaka, S.A.K.Item Challenges in vegetables and fruits exports in Sri Lanka(Economics Student Society, Department of Economics, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2016) Madanayake, E.K.Every day around the world, there are more people who need food on their plates and also the world’s population has increased by 1 billion since the turn of the millennium, and it keeps increasing by 3 million every year.
