The primary data collection was done through a standard questionnaire using google forms in online mode. The researcher conducted the preliminary analysis to ensure the reliability, validity, normality, and linearity of the data gathered. Further, the level of effectiveness of online learning and students’ satisfaction towards online learning was initially measured through descriptive statistics, and both measures were at a moderate level among these undergraduates. Then the strength of association was measured through correlation statistics using the Pearson correlation method and the results illustrate a significant moderate relationship (R = 0.630, Sig. = 0.000) between the effectiveness of online learning and students’ satisfaction. Moreover, the regression analysis results reveal a significant impact on the effectiveness of online learning on students’ satisfaction (R2 = 0.397, Sig. = 0.000). Furthermore, the students can use self-engagement, active participation and other tactics to improve their online learning satisfaction. The educational institutions can improve online learning effectiveness using tactics such as a userfriendly interface for LMS or website, maintaining a contact centre, etc. Further, the future researchers can study regarding the online learning field using the qualitative approach.Item Impact of Emotional Labor on Employee Performance: Mediating Effect of Employee Well-Being(Department of of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2020) Padmasiri, H.R.D.S.; Karunarathne, R.A.I.C.Although, the prior research extensively examined the antecedents of employee performance, a little is known about the effect of emotional labor on employee performance, particularly in the Sri Lankan context. Data were analyzed employing correlation, regression and descriptive statistics with the support of the SPSS. The results show a significant impact of emotional labor on employee performance, where employee performance increases by 22.6%. Further, mediating analysis results show that employee well-being partially mediates the effect between emotional labor and employee performance. Overall, this study highlights the importance of emotional labor to improve employee performance, in particular service sector organizations. The study’s data are cross-sectional. Otherwise, organizations cannot survive in the rapidly changing commercial environment. As a result, organizations are attempting to make changes to the organization. However, the success of implementing change continues to be challenging. The extant literature shows that most change implementations were unsuccessful while the small number of change implementations was successful. Employee commitment to change is one of the leading factors that lead to successful change. Even though there has been considerable research to examine the impact of employee engagement with change on the success of change in the Western context, there is a limited understanding of research on this issue in the Sri Lankan context. Thus, this study aims to identify the impact of employee commitment to change on the success of change in one of the leading manufacturing firms in Sri Lanka. In this study, the researcher conducted quantitative research, and a cross-sectional survey comprises 113 staff and above level employees in ABC Company using a convenience sampling technique. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression statistics with the aid of SPSS. It was noted that employee commitment to change is significantly related to successful change and that there is an impact on employee commitment to change on successful change. It was concluded that in determining the success of an implemented change, commitment to change plays an important role. The study provides a significant theoretical contribution in addressing the Herscovitch and Meyer three-component theory of commitment to change. It is suggested that when implementing a change, managers and practitioners should be concerned with employee perspectives as well. However, cross-validation of this study is recommended in different industries and cultures compared with a larger sample in subsequent studies.Item Impact of Employee Meaningfulness of Work on Employee Engagement: A Study of Non - Executive Level Employees in Private Banks in Gampaha District, Sri Lanka(Department of of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2020) Shashiprabha, H.W.P.U.; Jayarathna, S.M.D.Y.Human Resource is the life-blood of any organization, thus employee engagement has become a major concern in current organizational context. The sample of the study comprised of 46 managerial employees of Civi-tech engineering and construction (Pvt) Ltd. Data were collected regarding the two variables through structured questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. Descriptive statistics illustrate that perceived employee wellbeing of the samples at lower level and perceived employee job engagement of the samples is at lower level. As per the results of the correlation, it was found that there is a strong positive relationship between well-being and employee job engagement. Further, the results of the regression analysis illustrate that there is a significant impact of employee well-being on employee job engagement. Hence, it is recommended to establish properly planned employee well-being practices that will facilitate to make the employee fully engaged with their job. Current researcher encourages the future researchers to test the proposed research model within different organizational and cultural context to improve the generalizability of the study results. According to the results, 19.6% (R Square = 0.196) of the variation of employee work-life balance could be significantly (Sig. = 0.000 which is less than 0.05) explained by the independent construct in the research model in employee job retention. Further, the marginal contribution of employee retention (0.595) in determining the effect on work-life balance is to be considered statically significant (Sig. = 0.000) in the regression equation. According to the regression results, there is a significant impact of work-life balance on employee job retention. The results of this study can be used by various parties such as apparel companies, apparel sector employees and future researchers.
